Tbh mate, I don't see anything wrong with it. I can see the angle you're coming from, but it's a daft one. It's an angle overly-concerned with 'image' aimed at disolving any relation between image and music which defeats the object of a logo. You couldn't create a logo (an image) that isn't in some way related to the music without making it completely meaningless. Besides, skulls are used in the imagery of most major branches of rock music, it's not as if it's alienating people.
